Part A: In order Divide. Think of the matching multiplication fact.
- 7 ÷ 7 = 1
- 14 ÷ 7 = 2
- 21 ÷ 7 = 3
- 28 ÷ 7 = 4
- 35 ÷ 7 = 5
- 42 ÷ 7 = 6
- 49 ÷ 7 = 7
- 56 ÷ 7 = 8
- 63 ÷ 7 = 9
- 70 ÷ 7 = 10
- 77 ÷ 7 = 11
- 84 ÷ 7 = 12
Part B: Mixed up Divide.
- 70 ÷ 7 = 10
- 28 ÷ 7 = 4
- 21 ÷ 7 = 3
- 35 ÷ 7 = 5
- 7 ÷ 7 = 1
- 84 ÷ 7 = 12
- 56 ÷ 7 = 8
- 0 ÷ 7 = 0
- 49 ÷ 7 = 7
- 63 ÷ 7 = 9
- 42 ÷ 7 = 6
- 14 ÷ 7 = 2
Part C: Missing number Write the number that makes each fact true.
- 28 ÷ 7 = 4
- 14 ÷ 7 = 2
- 49 ÷ 7 = 7
- 77 ÷ 7 = 11
- 84 ÷ 7 = 12
- 35 ÷ 7 = 5
Tips for teachers and parents
- Ask "7 times what is this number?" 63 ÷ 7 is 9 because 7 × 9 = 63.
- Use facts the student already knows from other tables. 7 × 4 = 28 is the same as 4 × 7, so 28 ÷ 7 = 4 comes from the 4s.
- Remember 56 ÷ 7 = 8 with the counting order 5, 6, 7, 8.
- Practice Part A twice before attempting Part B. The in-order list lets the student build the facts one step at a time.
Common mistakes
- Answering 49 ÷ 7 = 6 or 56 ÷ 7 = 7. Multiply back to check: 7 × 7 is 49, and 7 × 8 is 56.
- Mixing up 42 ÷ 7 = 6 and 42 ÷ 6 = 7. Say the whole fact family together: 6 × 7, 7 × 6, 42 ÷ 6 and 42 ÷ 7.
What to practice next

Frequently asked questions
Is there a trick for dividing by 7?
Not a pattern trick like the 5s or 9s. The fastest method is knowing the 7 times table and turning each problem into a multiplication question.
Which grade learns divide by 7?
Grade 3. By the end of the year students are expected to know division facts for all one-digit divisors.
Can I use this for homework?
Yes. Print page 1 for the student and keep page 2, the answer key.
